History ![]() Hal-West Technologies began in 1996 with the merging of Haley Engineering and Manufacturing, and Western Manufacturing. Changing market demands, which the two companies could better address together than separately, necessitated the merger. The combination of these two shops led to a business that was much stronger than the sum of its parts. By thinking outside the box, Hal-West was able to extend the capabilities of their machinery beyond the scope originally intended for them. This “can-do” attitude brought in business that allowed the company, in 1997, to purchase a Nakamura-Tome 6-axis lathe, a machine worth more than the entire business to that point. Hal-West continued to grow until 2003, when it moved to Cle Elum, Wash. The move to a new 4000 square foot facility, owned by Hal-West, drastically lowered overhead, yet is still close enough to the Seattle metropolitan area to provide face-to-face contact with customers and quick turnaround.
